Development Site, Court Barton, Devon

Colmer Ecology was commissioned to carry out an initial preliminary ecological appraisal (PEA) and protected species building assessment of a redundant farm site in Devon.  As the PEA included potential for protected species, further reptile surveys were carried out and completed with a small population of slow worm and grass snake noted.

Producing an Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) report, details of initial habitats were provided, along with results, impact assessment and mitigation strategy for reptiles. Colmer Ecology also liaised with the developer and design team during masterplanning to provide ecological enhancements and mitigation within a sustainable development.

The EcIA report accompanied the planning application, and with consultation with local planning authority and statutory consultees, planning permission was subsequently granted.
